I have been working on an article all week, and have been struggling to narrow it down to one good message. Why, because I am focusing on the emotional side of money. Money is so much more emotional than most people will ever realize. My difficulty comes from the fact that everyone’s emotional relationship with money is different so giving one focused article is hard.

What I can tell you is that money is not your problem; money is the cover-up for the real problem.  I see it all the time, the problem is really fear, or a belief that money is bad, or that you are not worthy, the list just keeps going on. Very few have a healthy relationship to money; sadly we are raised in an environment that does not allow that healthy relationship. I too have had and continue to have emotional issues that are tied to or hidden under money.   What has changed for me is I am aware that I need to stop and look for the issue and resolve it. You too can do that.

So your first step in managing your money should be to ensure you are ready for the emotions and situations that arise from focusing on your money. Take the weekend and ponder your emotional preparedness to jump in. Are you ready to admit what is not working and why something is occurring? When you decide you are ready to face your issues, start with a budget – always a true emotional situation that will surely uncover hidden issues.

Have a great weekend.
